History
Peter opened the present decorative finish studio in Marin in 1989. For fifteen years, Peter and his associates have been testing new products and materials, inventing original techniques, and improving methods of application. In this way, Peter S. Bricca Decorative Finishes remains dedicated to producing work of the highest caliber and lasting beauty while maintaining high standards of technical and creative artistry. Peter S. Bricca Decorative Finishes has a long-standing reputation for producing finishes of elegant, sophisticated and timeless beauty to unique, spectacular, one-of-a-kind residential homes. Our commercial successes reached an all-time high by creating Pat Kuleto’s vision of Boulevard and Farallon restaurants in San Francisco. Peter has since worked on more than 100 different restaurants, as well as hotels, casinos, wineries, galleries, showrooms, offices, and country clubs.

   Background
Peter’s passion for the decorative arts has led him all over the country in pursuit of studios and teachers. He learned the classic painted finishes from studios teaching the techniques of Isabel O’Neil Studio in New York City. Peter has never been satisfied with knowing just the every day faux finishes. He sought out and studied under woodgrain artist, John Seacamp. George Zaffle of Larry Boyce Associates, who is responsible for the historic stenciling in the White House, taught Peter historic stenciling and metal leaf gilding techniques. Peter served as an assistant to JoAnne Day at the Day Studio Workshop. Peter studied  color theory under Gale Lawrence. When Peter and his clients tired of faux finishes, he traveled to New York, Phoenix, Boise, and San Francisco to study under Italian and French artists who were introducing their Venetian plasters products to the United States. When clients requested metal patinas, Peter responded by studying hot and cold patinas under sculptor, Ron Young. Staying current with the classic techniques of many different decorative finishes and yet always satisfying client’s even rarest of requests with creative innovations and discoveries has always been a mark of Peter’s work. "If you can imagine it - We can create it!"
